Weymouth defender Kevin Sandwith is thought to be close to a deal at Oxford United after training with the squad at Milton on Thursday.
The 30-year old, who can play at left-back or centre-half, could sign before the U's game against Torquay United.
Sandwith is among a number of players from the Dorset club who are set to leave after not receiving any wages at all in 2009.
He previously played under Oxford manager Chris Wilder at Halifax.
