Casillas, without him, Real Madrid wouldn't have won the La Liga titles and the Champions League in the last decade.

Not necessarily in Europe but im talking about the Premier League here. Brad Friedel is one of the best keepers around, if it wasnt for him, teams he has played for such as Blackburn Rovers would lose by much bigger scorelines. Not many people wouldve predicted i would say that, but people always go for the obvious choices such as Petr Cech, as good as he is, but they tend to forget about other goalkeepers, like Friedel, just because they dont play for the "Big Four"

He is a good up and coming keeper in russia and he was in 4-4-2's top 100 players so he must be prety good but not the best.

dont get me wrong i know about akinfeev from footy manager and 442, i was just wondering what tommy based his opinion on. you can't have an opinion if it's not your own, you can't go round saying akinfeev is best keeper in europe based on footy manager and what you've heard can you ? i'm not saying this is why tommy said it, i was just asking, because hardly anyone i know who know of him can give me a proper assessment of him co's they haven't watched him domestically.

Jussi Jaaskelainen is also a quality goalkeeper. For the same reasons as Brad Friedel.

Thought I'd bring this up again. I came across this thread scrolling through the forum two or three weeks ago because I had taken the AC Milan job on Football Manager and it said the weakest area of my team was in goal. I noticed Akinfeev was mentioned so I had him scouted and after some good reviews decided to sign him up. Yes it is a game but I conceded just 4 goals in the first 15 games of the season which is a remarkable record. So going on that yes he's quality but I think best in the world is extremely debatable, my pick for that is Casillas and Rob's comments on that are spot on.
