i didn't understand the long ball in the second half, as soon as Utd got possesion they hoofed the ball up to nowhere.

Our problem was keeping possession, don't think we kept the ball for over a minute in that second half.
They were probably told to hoof it, as we were playing defensively.
None of our attackers were even in the game.
