| BURTON Albion face a tough final lap in their quest to win the Blue Square Premier title race.
Sport - Burton Albion caretaker manager Roy McFarland The Brewers already knew they faced a testing run-in - and now it is even harder after the re-arrangement of home fixtures against Kettering Town and Torquay United.
Both games have been slotted in towards the end of the campaign.
And that means Albion's final seven fixtures will all be against teams with promotion ambitions.
The Kettering fixture - put back because of the Poppies' FA Cup run -will be played on Tuesday, March 31, while Torquay's visit to the Pirelli Stadium will be shown live on Setanta Sports on Monday, April 6.
During the run-in, Albion also have to visit Crawley Town, Kidderminster Harriers and Torquay as well as having home fixtures against second-placed Histon and play-off outsiders Oxford United.
Albion boss Roy McFarland said: "They are all games that could have some significance, but there is a lot of football to be played between now and then.
"Our sole focus at the moment is Saturday's game at home to Altrincham when we'll be trying to make it 13 wins in a row."
The re-arrangement of the Torquay fixture means Albion will make at least four television appearances between now and the end of the season, starting with Barrow's visit to the Pirelli Stadium on Monday. Burton Mail | |
