Name of Stadium : Kenilworth Road
Date visted : 11/10/2008
Teams involved : Luton Town v Darlington
Referee : Mr. J Linington
Town: We got of the bus and was met by a load of kids looking at us for those who have seen the film east is east the street was exactly the same as on there i thought bradford was bad but luton aint far off. Didnt fancy wondering to far out so didnt see much of it.
Pubs: Didnt go in any.
People: Cockneys tend to be a gobby lot and this was the case, you have to walk along a thin back lane to get to the other side of the stadium and we were just yelled abuse, northern scum etc. we just replied how many points to 0 ?
Game : Was a perfect day for football sun was shining we took a few there and the lads looked up for it , billy clarke put us 1-0 up early on but they scored before half time from a free kick. Second half was a bit dull and when we looked like we were going home with a point up step Gregg Blundell an unlikely hero on the day and i will forever love him for that 90th minute winner.
Atmosphere : home fans : 30 points who gives a fuck was all they sung over and over again to be fair they were loud and created a good atmosphere.
Atmosphere :away fans: We sang like we always do but when you have 3 sides of the stadium singing 30 points song it really does make you sound quiet however after our winner ive never heard E I E I E I O sung like that before we took the noise to another level that day.
Prices of food etc : Can't member to be honest, remember lads walking around with ice cream and lollys which was a first for me.
Then write about your day : The supporters bus left darlo at 8.00 am costing £28.00 to go to luton, we stopped just outside of Luton at some services because we had to get a police escort to the ground for one half full bus ! got there and thought we had arrived in Pakistan had a wonder around the stadium which is hid in houses the away turnstiles are between two houses weird as out then you walk up the stairs and you can see someones upstairs toilets and peoples back gardens. Watched the boys warm up and i think i should of got paid the amount of times i had to shot the ball back to andy collett (gk coach) the game started and finshed 2-1 to us
was buzzing when we got on the bus however the sun had got the better of most the old people and they stunk of BO arrived back in darlo about half 9 so was a good day out yet again.
Mark it out off 10 : 8/10
